I went to the gym today. I jogged for about 10 minutes to warm up, then did "The Power of Ten" on the strength training machines.

Holy hell...I thought I was going to die. What you do is do really heavy weights for 10 seconds up, and 10 seconds down. By your 8th rep, you're not supposed to be able to do it due to muscle failure. It's because your muscle cells are starting to tear themselves apart. Well, because your muscles need the time and energy to heal, your metabolism shoots up and you can only go to the gym once a week, and for only 20 minutes. I did 4 upper body ones, and 2 leg ones.

My arms and legs feel like they're made of jelly lol. I'll probably go back to the gym on Saturday or Sunday and just use the treadmill for 30 minutes. Cos this Power of Ten thing doesn't do anything for cardio health- it's just heavy strength.

I'm so sick of being unhealthy. I always tell myself that I'm going to start getting healthy, but it only lasts a few days before I'm back to eating crap. Well, no more. It's not like I can get someone else to do this for me. If I want to get healthy, it's something I have to do by myself and for myself. I can't do this for anyone else but me. If I work hard, I truly believe that I can do it. It won't happen overnight, but I can do it. If I can stick to it, who knows where I'll be in one year? 40 pounds less, that's where!! If I could get down to a size 10, I'll be the happiest person alive. Wish me luck, folks!! My first weighing day is August 17th.
