Mood: Disappointed
Music: -None-

Well, I beat Inuyasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask. Here's my final review on it:

Graphics: 4/10
Gameplay: 4/10
Story/Plot: 7/10
Dialogue: 3/10
Sound: 6/10
Overall: 4/10

Graphics: The graphics were crappy. The characters were goofy-looking, almost like they were in chibi format. It definitely is NOT what PS2 is capable of. I mean, if you look at something as gorgeous as Kingdom Hearts, then look at Inuyasha, you'd burst out laughing. It looks like it was made quickly, with as little money as possible.

Gameplay: The gameplay was really weak. You could only walk on the set paths given to you, with little freedom. While in the woods and walking along the path, sometimes, the path went straight across the screen with no options or anything. And, in the battles, you chose from a menu what attack you wanted, and the attack was done automatically for you. Plus, it wasn't a free-range battle...you and the enemy were in a rotation as to whose turn it was to attack (think Pokemon). If you chose a Co-op attack with another character, then an animated sequence (and I mean animated, as in an anime clip) was shown, then you attack blended back into 3-D to hit the enemy.

Story/Plot: This was the only thing I liked about the game, and is also what made me want to finish it. I am an Inuyasha fanatic, and the story itself was awesome. The only thing that I didn't like was some of the OOCness of Koga and Sesshoumaru. Koga seemed too nice to Inuyasha at some parts, and Sesshoumaru saved my life and let me lead him around (not very Sessho-like..he'd probably kill himself before taking direction from a human!). But the story was definitely the best part.

Dialogue: *cringes* Ugh! The dialogue of this game was absolutely horrible!! I think our beloved characters have forgotten what pronouns are!! Every time someone spoke, this is how it went down, "Naraku is horrible! We have to destroy Naraku! Naraku, you can burn in hell, Naraku!" It's like the creators of the game thought that we'd forget who they're talking about if they didn't put the subject's name in every 2 seconds! Merf. Anyway...I also didn't like the dialogue because some of it was really corny. And right next to the corniness, they'd put curse words. Shippo actually said the word "sucks"! Lol. And there was also a lot of unnecessary talking. The phrase "I see." became a common sight to me. "Naraku, you can burn in hell, Naraku!!" (Naraku): "I see." That's not a real quote from the game...but it wouldn't have surprised me if I saw it in there somewhere.

Sound: The sound of it was ok. I loved the village background music. But sometimes, the music was so loud that you couldn't hear the characters speaking, so you had to be sure to read the words on the screen. The battle music was just ok.

Overall: Overall, I wasn't impressed at all by the game. The random battles got really annoying, really quickly. Seriously. Battles were usually initiated by you walking by or into a purple cloud (it's supposed to be a "demonic aura"), but ever 5 steps seemed to result in a battle, and only half of them could be run from. I found myself cursing every time I entered a battle. It made my sister laugh. Anyways...I wouldn't waste my money on the game. If you really want to play it, just rent it. I beat the game in 23.5 hours. So just stay up really late over a weekend and beat it lol. That's what I did!
